Ho! Ho! Ho! Welcome Santa into your home with these delectable Christmas Cookies…and don’t forget the milk!
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The holiday season is so special, isn’t it? Everything is covered in garland and lights and looks beautiful, there seems to be a holiday party every few days, folks are searching for that special gift that shows just how much they care, and every family is celebrating with their beloved traditions. One of our favorite traditions is setting out cookies and milk for Santa on Christmas Eve!
It’s no wonder Santa loves milk as much as he does. After all, milk is often referred to as one of “Nature’s most perfect foods." It’s absolutely packed with nutrients! We all know milk is an excellent source of calcium, but did you know it also provides 10% or more of the recommended daily intake of protein, potassium, Vitamins D, A, and B12, as well as phosphorus and riboflavin? In fact, chocolate milk is the preferred recovery beverage for many athletes, and we all Santa needs as much stamina as he can get with all of those chimneys to contend with!
Not only is milk extremely healthy, but it is also a safe choice for your family. Milk is strongly regulated by the FDA, and each load that goes to the processing plant is tested for contaminants, such as pesticide residues and antibiotics. If even a trace amount is found, the entire load gets dumped down the drain immediately. Once the milk has been proven to be antibiotic free, it is then pasteurized (which simply means that it is heated to 145 degrees F for 30 minutes, then cooled rapidly) to ensure that no harmful bacteria are present. So, rest assure that any milk you by in the store is safe and free of antibiotics!
