Snap out of those late winter blues and warm up with a delicious bowl of hot soup and a little pre-spring garden planning!

Sure, Valentine’s Day has come and gone, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t still feeling the love. Maybe you love winter with its colder temperatures and excuse to snuggle up on the couch under a warm blanket with your loved ones. Or, maybe you love spring and are just counting down the days until the Earth springs back to life and is green and vibrant again. Either way, this time of year is full of possibilities and time spent making plans!

Indiana farmers are definitely busy making plans and getting ready for spring. They are prepping for planting season, trying to decide which fields to plant with what types of seed and researching new technologies that will help them grow more crops while using fewer resources than ever before. Technology plays a huge role in modern farming, affecting planting, harvest, and everything in between and after! And, as we know thanks to constantly upgrading phones and tablets, technology is always evolving. Farmers work hard to stay on top of the new information and to implement those changes into their operations. Jent from The Farmwife Feeds goes into a more detail in her blog posts, 5 Reasons for Farm Planting Technology and Farm Technology: Corn Drying.

Speaking of making plans and deciding what to plant and how to plant it, now is the time to start making plans for your own garden! Whether you’re more of a one or two container plant gardener, or a huge plot out back, ordering seed in bulk type of gardener, it’s always easier to get started when you have a plan in place! Stacy from The Backroad Life has some great tips on How to Plan Your Vegetable Garden, as well as some Easy Cold Weather Vegetables to Grow!
