It’s hard to believe, but summer is over and August has arrived! Kids all around the state are packing their backpacks and climbing those school bus steps on the way to start another school year! While family life is busy all year round, for some reason back to school time seems to be one of the busiest. There’s just something about trying to get back into the school year routine after the summer months. And we can’t forget that the Indiana State Fair is happening, giving us more to do in what little free time we have!

As they educate the leaders of tomorrow, making sure that they create a more sustainable future is an important priority for all school districts. For many districts that means using a soy biodiesel blend in school busses! What is biodiesel? It is a clean-burning alternative fuel produced from domestic, renewable resources, such as soybeans. Soy biodiesel can be used in existing, unmodified diesel engines and can even extend the life of the engine! It is a product proudly made in the U.S., which helps reduce dependency on foreign oil. More people, and school districts, are choosing biodiesel because it’s safer and more environmentally-friendly than petroleum diesel. To learn more, visit the Indiana Soybean Alliance website!

The kids are going to need something to pack in those lunchboxes as they head off to the school! Since it’s the start of a new school year, so why not try something different and break out of that peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch rut with some new Packable Lunches? We’ve asked a few of our favorite bloggers (who also happen to be moms!), and here are some of their favorite lunch ideas for kids AND adults!
